The healthier you are, the more successful you can be. It has been said that a person with good health has hope, and one with hope has everything. Health is our most valuable weapon in facing life’s opportunities and struggles along with it. When addressing our health, we habitually focus on improving our physical body. Consequently, we often fail to remark on other aspects of our well-being. Hence, we must recognize that spiritual, emotional, and mental health is as important as physical health.
Moreover, there is an arising dilemma in athletics wherein athletes hardly consider the urge to ask for mental health support unless they are sick. They often experience pressure to maintain an impressive and resilient image which causes them to put their health on the back burner and concentrate more on building their image up. Thus, we must realize that we don't have to be unwell first to be able to ask for help because we can be doing well and still seek learning, growth, and insight that could help us to achieve wellness in all aspects. As our guest speaker believes, "When we address our health in a holistic and integrative way, we can enhance our ability to be effective and perform successfully."
Emily Perrin is the CEO and founder of Perrin Wellness and Performance, which was created to help people gain insight and address overall health issues that affect their ability to perform and succeed in whatever they do. In this special episode with Emily Perrin, we will learn about the encouraging life of an excellent woman who has a passion for helping people, especially athletes, to address their health and well-being and to empower them to make sustainable and positive behavior changes to their health. Today's episode will encourage us to realize that health does not mean simply addressing the physical body. Still, it also involves every facet of our life. Be captivated by the story and passion of Emily as she shares with us how through life struggles, she embarked on a journey that led her to mindfulness, yoga, and inclusively addressing health.
