How to Pivot for a Fresh Start

In this solo episode, Dr. Derrick Burgess will reminisce about the expansion of TimeOut with the SportsDr. Podcast. This show has provided listeners with a life-fulfilling journey of various guests from different fields, including sports, medicine, business, and entrepreneurship. Tune in today as we look back to the first day of our journey which seemed impossible to prosper. Then fast forward to the realization of how far we have come – inspiring lives and touching hearts.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. One of the finest things in life is to accomplish something wonderful, then step back and reminisce about the hardships and barriers we’ve overcome along the way. Most of the time, taking the first step toward our goals can be dubious. Consequently, the fear of uncertainty can trap or even immobilize us in deep thinking, contemplating whether to take a step forward or turn back.

Indeed, we must recognize that the journey to every destination is never perfect. There will be moments when our goals seem impossible to achieve, but if we can only visualize the end from the beginning we won’t quit. However, if we remain faithful and consistent in what we do, there can be no doubt that we can win. Thus, it takes love, determination, and faith in God to reach our desired destination. We must learn to embrace hardships and realize that consistency increases our capacity to prosper. If we are focused and determined, every fall can be the catalyst that manifests great reasons to get up and continue to show up no matter what.

"We're not aiming to be perfect; we're aiming to be progressive." – Dr. Derrick Burgess
