Athletes should know how to speak to other athletes.
Full episode: https://youtu.be/osD_mc4rvNc
The ability to consistently overcome failure and hardship, rather than perfection, defines an athlete's path to greatness. Athletes are trained in a challenging capacity. Their training has prepared them to do their best and push through even amid pain, which damages their mental wellness in the long run. It leads us to agree that athletes, in their expertise, can also experience depression and are prone to the anxiety that their sport can bring. However, in some cases, their emotional experiences were invalidated and treated insignificantly. We must be aware of every person who comes to us with the warning signs of depression and anxiety because a simple constructive conversation with them can save a life.
Learn how you can speak to other athletes and support a fellow athlete in need.
